Cave plant=Broken lens

This is the first time I'm showing this image to anyone.  It is a plant in a cave somewhere out by Cookville.  I was so excited when I saw this because I had read about these type of plants but had never seen one.  I set up my mini lighting studio with LED flash lights and proceeded to shoot away.  This is my favorite of the find taken with my Canon 40D with the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS lens at 130 mm, ISO 1600, 1/320 sec, and f/2.8.  I noticed my team of hikers was beginning to leave, and I threw everything in my bag quickly and hurried to catch up.  I was not my normal double check my gear self.  Walking back I almost lost my balance, but I didn't fall.  However, I heard a horrible crash sound.  I looked back and there was my beautiful 70-200 lens laying on the floor of the cave.  I held my breath looked and the filter wasn't cracked, but the lens was.  Then I yelled... a lot.  I have yet to get it fixed, afraid of the bill, but I miss the lens so maybe soon.  I haven't been willing to show off this image for that reason.  Hope you like it.

Getting Started part 2

A few more of my favorites from 2009.

Getting Started

I am a photographer who loves to shoot people being happy.  I love shooting weddings, children, and families.  I get this privilege because I have a loving and supportive husband. I hope you enjoy my shots and thoughts.
